Low-Dose Naltrexone in Massachusetts
Calm Chronic Inflammation and Take Back Your Days
You hurt in places that never show up on a scan.
You're exhausted before the day starts.
Brain fog makes simple tasks feel heavy.
Flares come without warning.
And you've been told your labs are "normal."
Normal isn't the same as optimal. Low-dose naltrexone (LDN) is a prescription medication used off-label at 0.5–4.5 mg to support the body's own endorphin production and help regulate inflammatory pathways. Our nurse practitioners combine advanced lab testing with a full medication review — and hormone evaluation when indicated — to decide whether LDN belongs in your plan, then monitor you closely.
What Is Low-Dose Naltrexone?
LDN is typically prescribed in doses ranging from 0.5 mg to 4.5 mg daily, compared with the standard 50 mg dose used for opioid or alcohol dependence. At these lower doses, LDN temporarily blocks opioid receptors for a short period of time. Researchers believe this brief blockade may encourage the body to increase production of its own endorphins and help regulate certain immune and inflammatory pathways.
Consulting one of our healthcare professionals is the first step. We determine whether LDN is appropriate for your individual health needs, rule out interactions and other causes of your symptoms, and build a plan that's safe, personalized and monitored over time.

Is LDN Safe?
LDN is generally well tolerated when prescribed appropriately. Some people experience mild side effects during the first few weeks — vivid dreams, difficulty sleeping, headache, mild nausea, or temporary stomach upset. These symptoms often improve as the body adjusts, and your provider can slow your titration if needed.
LDN is not a steroid, immunosuppressant, or narcotic, and it is not habit-forming.
Who Should Not Take LDN
- •Anyone taking opioid pain medications
- •Those using narcotic cough medicines
- •Patients receiving opioid addiction treatment
- •Certain liver conditions
- •Pregnant or breastfeeding patients (without provider discussion)
Ask about pairing LDN with vitamin injections for energy support.
What Makes Us Different
Many clinics hand you a prescription and send you home. That's not how we practice medicine.
Our providers take a functional, personalized approach — identifying underlying contributors to your symptoms rather than masking them. Your plan may also include comprehensive lab testing, nutrition recommendations, hormone optimization, peptide therapy when appropriate, lifestyle coaching and targeted supplements.
Optimize how you feel—not just what the lab says.

Meet Your Provider
Dr. Noreen Connolly, PhD, NP
Hi, I'm Dr. Noreen Connolly, founder of The IV Hub Wellness. I've spent years helping patients improve their health through personalized medical care.
With LDN, the details matter: the starting dose, the pace of titration, the timing of the dose, and how it fits with everything else you're taking. Patients who are guided carefully through the first eight weeks tend to do best.
My goal is to find out what's actually holding your body back and build a protocol designed specifically for you.

What Results Look Like
LDN is not an overnight therapy. Sleep and vivid dreams often settle within the first two weeks. Most patients who respond notice reduced pain, better energy and less brain fog between weeks 4 and 8, with continued improvement out to three months as the dose is optimized.
Results vary by diagnosis, starting labs, dosing, adherence and lifestyle. Your provider will set realistic milestones with you at your first visit.
